A week and a half after REBarCamp Chicago (June 15th, 2009), I had the opportunity to interview Dan Green, one of the primary organizers of REBarCamp Chicago. I’ve been to several REBarCamps around the country including Virginia, San Francisco, & Denver but Chicago was by far, the most interesting and personally rewarding REBC event I’ve attended to date. The level of discussion was strong. Many of the participants at REBC Chicago spend significant amounts of time developing themselves and their brand online.
Go where the discussions take place….
REBarCamps provide a great way to meet technology-minded professionals and begin developing meaningful relationships with them. Some real estate professionals question the ROI of spending time interacting with industry colleagues. I believe the investment needed to attend an REBarCamp returns itself many times over. Learning, sharing, & discovery all occur at a quickened pace at REBarCamps…and they are loads of fun.
Thanks to Dan Green (@mortgagereports on twitter) for giving time for this interview and thanks to the many volunteers that made REBarCamp Chicago a fantastic experience for everybody that attended. Regards ~ JB
